Varistem® is a low-cost blasting/stemming plug for mining, quarrying, and civil blasting applications boasting the most efficient means of reducing costs in blasting and processing. Varistem achieves up to a 25% increase in fragmentation with independent studies also showing a 10% or more increase in blast patterns, with the same fragmentation for major savings in drilling and explosive costs. The plugs should be inserted point-down. Using a standard loading/charge pole, simply push the plug to the ANFO or Emulsion in a matter of seconds!

Besides reducing the average rock diameter in the muck pile, Varistem® saves secondary breakage costs by reducing the volume of oversized cap rock. It is possible to shorten stemming heights for improved cap rock breakage and consistent stemming heights and reduced gas emulsions are possible in air decking.
